The analogy of successfully using visceral manipulation as told by a bear in a hammock.
Given an otherwise healthy organ, Visceral Manipulation is an effective therapeutic treatment for improving overall mobility of the body because releasing restrictions on the specific tensions present in the tissue of each organ does improve the normal functioning of that organ. Consider the analogy of successfully using visceral manipulation as told by a bear in a hammock.
It has been said that we can understand the manner fascia holds an organ as a bear sits in a hammock. Just as the hammock holds the bear as a sling, so each organ is entirely suspended and supported by the fascia.
By viewing the image above, we can clearly see that the placement of the hammock beneath, and the ropes above entirely DETERMINES the positioning and movement potential for the bear.
For example: Assuming the seat of the bear would not move, How far UP; how far to the RIGHT; how far to the LEFT, etc. do we see that the bear can reach?
We recognize that the bear is quite limited because of its position in the hammock.
My work uses Visceral Manipulation and Craniosacral Therapy to bring about change to body tissues through work on the tensions and movement of the fascial system.
Through this work we enable our bodies to more adequately perform their various vital functions. The lungs, for example, to better provide for the exchange of carbon dioxide for oxygen; the kidneys to improve the ease with which each removes toxins from the blood and maintains vital electrolyte balance; and particularly effective, is the ability of my work to improve the range of movement each rib has as it connects with each vertebral segment.
